The Terminator has always been a pretty badass character. T2 seems like so long ago, but it stands the test of time pretty well. This is a model from CA3d. They have a Patreon which i'm a member of and their sculptors are some of the best IMO.
This was painted with a mix of acrylics, lacquers and oils, airbrushing and hand painting. I made the nameplate myself and 3d printed it. The files come with 3 head options, the one pictured, one with sunglasses and one with the metal skull showing from damage. I was originally going to use the damaged head, but then I re-watched the movie and it started to bother me that the body was wrong for that head. It didn't get damaged till he was equipped with the grenade launcher and the bandolier around his torso, so the way my brain works, I had to switch it out. I also wanted to paint his eyes, so I skipped the sunglasses version, which is probably the most iconic though. (I have busts of those two that I can paint later)
The base represents the scene from the movie where they're picking up weapons and he's given the name 'Uncle Bob". There was junk, wood planks, tumbleweeds all over the ground. All in all, this was a fun figure to paint. The leather was something new for me and it seems like it worked out pretty well. I also tried a couple new techniques for the flesh that seems to have worked ok. Still fleshing it out though (pun definitely intended)
